WHO IS NIKLAS?
Niklas completed a civilian parachute course in 1986 while serving in the Swedish Air Force. In 1991 he earned a Master’s Degree in engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm. After graduation from university, he started working as a full-time freefall instructor at parachute centers in the USA and Sweden. From 1994 to 2003 Niklas worked for several companies in the parachute industry including Performance Designs, United Parachute Technologies (former Relative Workshop), and Butler Tactical Parachute Systems.
From 1999 Niklas’ main responsibility was to work closely with military organizations developing new and modern military parachute systems. Some of the more known projects I managed include a new custom-designed parachute system for the German antiterrorist police unit GSG-9, a new HAHO/HALO system for the Swedish SF, a new high-altitude landing system for the US Air Force SF, and a Bundle Recovery system used for military tethered tandem bundle parachute insertions (TT-600). In 2004 Niklas created G-TEC with the intent to support his clients with implementation and training for these new parachute systems, as well as further development of accessories, procedures, and training programs meeting modern operators need for parachute insertion capabilities.
